Most fraud cases are preventable, and you are the best line of defense for keeping your account and money safe. Here are some simple steps and key considerations for securing your tastyfx accounts.
Enable two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication is one of the most straightforward steps to prevent account takeover if your password is compromised. 2FA requires entering a time-sensitive code from your authenticator app each time you log in. It takes about a minute to set up.
What tastyfx will never do
Ask for your password or login details
Ask you to move money to protect it, or to send funds to an account not in your name
Ask you to install screen-sharing or remote-access software
Offer to trade your account or guarantee returns
Contact you from a personal email address or an unofficial social media account
Every tastyfx email comes from an @tastyfx.com address, and https://www.tastyfx.com is the only place to log in.
How to spot an imposter
Fraud attempts aim to rush your thinking with something that demands a fast response: a security alert, a transaction you do not recognize, a warning that your account is at risk. The goal is to get you clicking, calling, or sharing a code before you check anything.
Verify who is contacting you and how. Caller ID, sender addresses, and web addresses are easy to fake, and imposter domains are usually one letter off from the real one. Do not click links in unexpected messages. Open the tastyfx app or type https://www.tastyfx.com yourself, and download the app only from the App Store or Google Play. If something feels off, hang up and call us on (312) 981-0498.
Be on guard any time a message or call includes:
Urgency, such as a claim that your account will be locked or your funds are at risk unless you act now
A request to move money to a "safe" account or an outside platform
A request to share a verification code or password
A request to keep the conversation private
A threat of a lawsuit, arrest, or fine
Any one of these is a reason to stop. A legitimate request will still be legitimate after you have taken time to verify it.
Offers to trade your account
Be careful with anyone you meet online who offers to trade for you or sell you signals for a share of the profits. These approaches often build trust over weeks before money comes up.
Whoever is asking, the same rules apply. No one needs your username and password to trade on your behalf, your funds stay in your own tastyfx account, and you can check anyone's registration on NFA BASIC at nfa.futures.org/basicnet. Be skeptical of guaranteed or unusually high returns.
Recovery scams
If you have already lost money, expect a second approach. Someone will offer to recover your funds for an upfront fee, sometimes claiming to be a lawyer, a regulator, or a recovery specialist. Regulators do not charge fees to recover money. This is the same scam a second time.
Signs your account has been accessed
A login, password change, or security setting you did not change
A change to your contact details you did not request
A trade, transfer, or withdrawal you do not recognize
If something doesn't feel right, trust that feeling
You do not need to be certain to reach out. Consider changing your password, then call (312) 981-0498 or email helpdesk.us@tastyfx.com. If you have sent money, contact your bank as well.
