What is the tastyfx FIX API?
The tastyfx FIX API is a session-based connection to our order management system over FIX 5.0 SP2. Submit orders, manage positions, and pull account data directly from your own OMS or execution stack, no terminal, no VPS, no third-party bridge.
What you need to connect:
- A FIX engine — off the shelf or your own. You own the session layer.
- Static IP addresses — sessions are IP-authenticated and secured over SSL. VPN and cross-connect available on request.
- Development resources — you'll build against our specification and pass a formal conformance test.
- Defined strategies — we'll ask what you're trading, at what volume, and how your system handles a disconnect.

Individuals are eligible. In practice, most FIX clients are firms with in-house development resources, because building and maintaining a FIX session is a real engineering commitment.
Enough to build and maintain a session on your side. You'll be responsible for your FIX engine, message handling, and reconnection logic, and you'll need to pass a conformance test covering order handling and session recovery before going live. Our developers support you throughout, but the integration work is yours.
FIX is the connection method for programmatic trading with tastyfx. If you're looking to automate without building a FIX integration, MetaTrader 5 supports Expert Advisors.
Order messages are capped at 240 per minute per account, with a 20-per-second burst allowance. Tell us your expected volumes and we'll confirm the fit.
