USD/CHF Slides as Treasury Yields Crack
USD/CHF came under pressure as collapsing U.S. Treasury yields pulled support from the U.S. Dollar while risk aversion sent fresh safe-haven demand into the Swiss Franc.

USD/CHF remained under pressure on Friday, trading around the low-0.82s after a sharp overnight decline. The catalyst came from the U.S. rates market, where the 10-year Treasury yield dropped back below 5% as investors rushed into bonds amid renewed concern over the scale and financing of AI infrastructure spending. That move materially reduced expectations for additional Fed tightening and stripped away one of the U.S. Dollar’s strongest recent tailwinds. The Swiss Franc benefited at the same time from a broader rotation into defensive currencies.
Switzerland’s domestic rate story remains much quieter. The SNB is still sitting at 0% with inflation comfortably inside its target range, leaving little pressure to tighten policy. That normally limits Swiss Franc upside, but today the haven bid overwhelmed the rate differential. The key shift in USD/CHF is coming from the U.S. side: as Treasury yields retreat and Fed hike odds fade, the U.S. Dollar loses the yield advantage that carried the pair higher earlier this month.
USD/CHF Daily Price History

USD/CHF is in a pullback, but the broader uptrend is still intact. The pair rolled over from the 0.8380-0.8400 area and has now retraced toward 0.8250, where the first meaningful test is starting. Price remains above the longer-term moving averages, and the broader structure since the spring still looks like higher highs and higher lows. The key question is whether this becomes a healthy reset or the start of a deeper reversal. The first support zone is 0.8200-0.8175. That area matters because it lines up with the prior breakout shelf and the horizontal support marked on the chart. A daily close below 0.8175 would do real damage and open the door toward 0.8100, then 0.8050. On the upside, the first resistance sits around 0.8300-0.8330, followed by the recent highs near 0.8380-0.8400.
